It was the beginning of the twentieth century when the ancient Villa San Pietro was built by two Danish sisters that were keen on travelling and fond of Island of Sicily. The hotel's origins began with its name, taken from the old byzantine church consecrated to Saint Peter, a gem stone of beauty just outside the Hotel's gates.
As the only Relais & Chateaux in Sicily this quiet and beautifully maintained retreat, a few minutes walk from the centre of Taormina town, is encapsulated by the glorious Sicilian flora that flourishes in this part of the World. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed over the Mediterranean seas and out to the ‘Isola Bella’ (beautiful island), a small emerald promontory that can only be reached at low-tide via a connecting bridge.
An open-air pool provides refreshment from the sun, and a panoramic terrace, a paradise for guests in search of a platform to soak up the heat of the Taormina sunshine.
